The Pokemon Company has announced the next 7 Star Tera Raid event for Pokemon Scarlet And Violet.
The event target this time will be the Unova Starter Samurott with a Bug Tera Type. The first run of the event will go from March31st to April 2nd 2023, with a second run planned for April 7th to April 9th.
As with the previous Mighty Starter Pokemon Raids, this will be the only way to obtain Samurott legitimately in Pokemon Scarlet And Violet, at least until Pokemon HOME compatibility launches later this year. Players who conquer the raid will only be able to capture Samurott once, although they can choose to keep doing the raid to receive various rewards.
7-star Tera Raid Samurott stats, moves – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
We don’t know the exact move set for Samurott yet, but given its stats and move pool, and what we know from previous raids, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect.
Here’s what we think Samurott will be running:
The Unrivaled Samurott – Level 100
Nature – Impish
Ability – Shell Armor
Item – None
Tera type – Bug
Potential moveset – Focus Energy, Swords Dance, Aqua Cutter, Megahorn, Night Slash, Slash, Sacred Sword, Sword Dance, Rain Dance, Screech
There are a lot of unknowns in Samurott’s set, but we can be pretty confident it will be running Megahorn for the Bug tera boost. Given previous gimmicks, we think Focus Energy to boost critical attacks is fairly likely, which could make setting up defensive buffs worthless even before it clears stats.
Aqua Cutter, Night Slash, and Slash all have a boosted critical rate already, so they would benefit even further from Focus Energy. Sacred Sword is a very real possibility too, which ignores defense buffs in the first place, making it a dangerous opponent in a raid.
That said, Samurott’s stats are spread pretty evenly across the board, making it a jack of all trades and a master of none. Its fairly low special defense gives us an opening with special attackers, and its bug typing in this raid makes finding counters quite easy.
