Ranked Battle Regulation G (Season 16) in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) is has been announced and will run from May 1 until August 31, 2024.
Regulation G allows the use of all available Pokemon in the Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy Pokedex and will now allow certain restricted Legendary Pokemon. Read on to learn more about Regulation G, the legal and banned Pokemon, and rules.

Regulation G of Ranked Battle has been announced and will run from May 1, 2024 until August 31, 2024.
The Regulation G ruleset allows for all Pokemon in the Paldea Pokedex, Paradox Pokemon, the four Treasures of Ruin, Pokemon from Pokemon HOME, Pokemon from the Kitakami Pokedex and Indigo Disk Pokedex.
This new ruleset now allows for Legendary Pokemon into the mix, which should mix the meta up!

Koraidon and Miraidon Can Now Fight!
Koraidon and Miraidon which were previously banned from competitive play until Regulation F, are now able to join the fray! These two will surely shake up the competitive scene due to their abilities working in perfect tandem with other Paradox Pokemon.

Details of Legal Teams & Pokemon
- A player’s team cannot contain two Pokemon with the same Paldea Pokédex number.
- Two Pokémon cannot hold the same item.
Regulation G Rewards
Players who have reached certain milestones during Regulation G will receive rewards after the season ends and the results are announced and are the based on the results of your battles.
Players need to finish at least one match with a win or loss during the season to be eligible for rewards.

Regulation G Ruleset
- Rankings for Single and Doubles are separate.
- You cannot go down a rank once your tier has been raised. No matter how many times you lose, your Tier will stay the same.
- An Internet connection is required in playing Ranked Battles. You will need an Nintendo Switch Online Subscription to participate in all online activities in Pokemon including Ranked Battles.
